Julian Bontemps makes a bid for the Raceboard Title
Posted On:  07/10/2005 8:19:38 PM

Some dramatic changes at the top of the leaderboard after another three races today, making a total of ten races for this World Championship in Cadiz.  The men have been re-grouped into Gold and Silver Fleets.

Despite not actually winning any races today, Julian Bontemps (FRA) has leapt ahead from fifth overall to the top position, four points ahead of Curro Manchon (ESP), still in second place.  Nicolas Huguet (FRA) has moved from seventh place to third, and Joeri Van Dijk (NED) is only one point behind in fourth. Patrik Pollak (SVK) has dropped down to seventh.

Julien Quentel (FRA) won two of the three races today, and Przemek Miarczynski (POL) won the third.

Tomorrow sees the last day of racing - who will take the Raceboard World Championship title?

Despite Carmen Vaz' (ESP) less than spectacular performance today, she remains untouchable at the top of the Ladies Fleet.  Spanish domination however has been broken as Bryony Shaw (GBR) has moved up from fifth to second place and Faustine Merret (FRA) has moved from fourth to third.

The first of today's races was won by Olga Maslivets (UKR), Antonia Frey took the second bullet and Christine Johnston (GBR) took the third. Lucy Horwood (GBR) deserves a mention for consistently coming second in all three.

This is turning out to be a really interesting contest!
