Patrik extends his lead, but too close to call for 2^nd place . . .

Only one race was possible today at the 2006 King Power Raceboard World Championships. A glassy sea confronted the sailors arriving at the Northpoint  beachfront for day 7 of the championships. However the forecast was optimistic for the afternoon, and sure enough the wind slowly built and then swung to the south and increased.

The course was set and sailors were called to the water. The tension was clearly getting to the sailors, as the first start of the day produced the first general recall of the event.

However sailors got away cleanly on the restart; Patrik Pollak (SVK 1) took the lead early in the race, a position he held to the finish. The result consolidated his lead, but the race did not start well for Riccardo Giordano (ITA 2). Overnight Riccardo held second place in the championship - but after today's race he slips behind "Sam" Wong (HKG 11). Only .5 of a point now separate these two Masters; which spices up tomorrow's exciting finale.
